Raising Fry(Baby Betta)

When to remove the male betta?
Usually I remove them when the fry are free swimming. But my brother only remove the male when the fries are big enough and feeding on tubifex. It's all up to your own decisions.

What do they eat?
During the first 2 weeks of the hatched fry and when they are free swimming(Swimming horizontally), I would usually get Daphnia(Boon) from the local fish shops it they are usually sold at 50cents per big pack which can last you for like 2-3days. When you very first get your pack of daphnia off the shop make sure you wash them before giving them to the fry. You can first get a thin cloth which water can sip through to filter the daphnia out of the water in the pack. then after you have collected the daphnia on the cloth itself, rinse it with aged water you have as daphnia are very dirty. You can then throw them into the tank for the fry. After 2 weeks, when the fry is big enough, you may consider feeding them tubifex. I usually feed them tubifex after 2weeks of hatch and don't worry that they'll choke as mine didn't =) feeding tubifex will speed up their "growing up" process. And at the same time, you may want to introduce half a cup of aged water every 2days for them to speed up the "growing up" process too.
